Qualisports Beluga 48V10.5Ah500W 20x4" Fat Tire Folding Rear Hub Electric Bike

Qualisports logo Authorized Dealer

The Beluga is a foldable electric bike with a 10.5Ah battery that is inside the seat-post. The battery does not lock in, so be careful about theft.

It has a 500W motor and 4" fat tires, so that whether wet stone, muddy paths, beach sand, or snowy hills, our Beluga will take you there. And while there is no suspension, the fat tires provide more cushion for a more comfortable ride.

The Beluga has compact 20" wheels, and a folding frame that stores in seconds. This design allows you to take it on a bus, offering reliable ground transportation and recreation. Includes fenders.

Notice that that the wheels have no spokes. And cast alloy rims won't go out of true or get damaged easily, which add extra comfort when riding over all terrain roads.

Qualisports Beluga Review - We read the reviews so you don’t have to.

Step-over electric bike, 48V 10.5Ah 500W, 45+ mile range, folding, city, no suspension, 20" x 4” fat tires, rear drive, disk brakes, weight 64 lbs, cargo 300 lbs, inseam 26-28 inch, rider 5’1” - 6’3”.

The following points have been compiled from various reviews. When you read a bike’s reviews, patterns can be seen.

Strengths
• I was able to get it to over 23 MPH while pedaling, 27MPH going downhill and had it on the beach, mountain trails, and roadways. It has plenty of battery power and holds the charge for hours.
• The bike is super smooth and all components function flawlessly.
• Love the bike and all the features. Everyone that has tried it was impressed. The Beluga is a great bike. The frame welds are beautiful, great riding bike.
• It is very stylish and has perfect speed for my transportation. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a bike that has 20 mph max speed. The battery has a long duration too.
• I've had the bike for about a month now, and drive it to work over dirt and sand 5-6 days a week (about 5 miles/day) and the battery lasts for 4 days - took it on the beach yesterday and easily rode 2 miles. I fold it up and shove it in my car every day - don't really take care of it - and it's doing good so far.
• You get good exercise, but when the going gets tough you got the motor to pull you or help you...We use ours at the camp sights we go to for running into town or shower house etc.
• It is a quality product, folds easily, neatly and in under few minutes. They are a good value for money.
• Easy fits in the back of my small suv.
• They fold up and we can store two of them in the back of our Ford Edge with the seats down.

Weaknesses
• 3 out of 3 Belugas delivered had minor scratches on the paint (fenders and front fork) Also derailleur hangers bent needing straightened on all 3. Suggest better packaging on those areas and perhaps including touch up paint in the box.
• I would definitely recommend having a bike mechanic build the bike - I had to straighten a bent derailleur hanger and reset both brake calipers and adjust brakes.
• My one wish would be for a suspension fork.
• Assembly was a little confusing, and I'm very handy, so someone who isn't mechanically inclined may have difficulty. I've had some issues with the disk brakes (too tight upon arrival and still not perfect). The fenders are a little flimsy and some other tiny annoyances.
• It was easy for me to put together, but, I was an auto tech for years...some might have a little bit of a challenge, but not bad!
• I've close to 1000 miles and 9months of actual use and 11 months of total use
The following is everything that has gone wrong:
1. The rear motor has now been replaced twice, the second time came with a huge shipping cost and died within 9 miles of being on the bike.
2. The crank has been replaced twice, general creaking and breaking down after 300 miles
3. There's no protection on any of the bend [folding] points or tires, so the monitor ended up cracking once, replaced, (and the replaced monitor might have been part of the reason why the first motor died, the timing was too weird and the bike never really liked the new display).
4. The throttle has been replaced once, again no protection on the bike to stop itself from hurting itself when folded, the accelerator took abuse over a 4 month period from that and eventually snapped off.
5. All general bolts have been replaced at least once.
6. Tires have no inner protection, very prone to tears / constantly fixing them.
7. The pedals have been replaced twice, caved in after the second pair caused problems with its plastic design and difficult folding mechanic. Ended up going metal.

Comments
• My complaint about is that in New York City, I have to take the train and the bike is heavy, but I feel very good.
• Goes fast and lasts a long time on one charge if just using the pedal assist. With the throttle only you get about half the distance depending on your weight.
• The seat it came with is perfectly comfortable for short or medium length rides, and I found going for more than 20 or 30 minutes was not bad either but could be better.
• I would say the issue with moderately difficult trails with more obstacles is going uphill. With a mountain bike it is easy to be slow and precise and change your speed quickly, but with the motor on this bike it is difficult to adjust speed going up hill, and going over rocks and obstacles becomes more of a challenge. However, going uphill on flatter trails is of course going to be much, much easier.
