Electric Bike Co. Model Y Review - We read the reviews so you don’t have to.
Step-thru electric bike, 48V9-18Ah1000W, 40-80mile range, city, cargo, front suspension, seat suspension and springs, 24/26 x 2.3” tires, swept-back handlebars, rear drive, hydraulic disk brakes, weight 58lbs, rider+cargo+bike weight 420 lbs, rider 5' - 6'10".
The following points have been compiled from various reviews. When you read a bike’s reviews, patterns can be seen.
Strengths
• The charge lasts for quite some time and the bike rides smooth and the seat is very comfortable. This is the best bike I’ve ever owned.
• I am thrilled beyond belief with my decision. Power, comfort, quality and range.
• A great ride. Lots of power, and very smooth. A slight bend and paint chip on the basket. (I am sure the bend happened during shipping.) Extremely well packed, very easy to set up. a VERY nice bike.
• I like the simplicity of a single gear with no shifting required.
Weaknesses
• The only thing that I don't like is how loud the alarm is when turning the power to the bike on and arming and disarming the alarm. I understand that it is supposed to be loud as a deterrent when set, but it is obnoxiously loud when setting and starting power. Looking for a way to disconnect or remove the alarm. Everything else is PERFECT!
• I prefer the handgrip better than the thumb throttle. If I was riding for a long time, my thumb would be very sore from having to keep constant pressure on a tiny switch. Handgrip throttles are much easier and more comfortable for me. Other than this somewhat minor detail, this is my dream bike.
Comments
• My only recommendation is that if your going to get this bike as a commute bike to upgrade the front forks with a suspension, as most roads are not very well maintained.

Lower EPI casing provides better puncture protection but makes for a stiffer and heavier tire. https://www.schwalbetires.com/ |

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
Because the battery is located in the front basket, will this make it noticeably more difficult to steer due to this added front weight? I plan to upgrade to two batteries in the basket, same question re awkward steering due to added front weight? This bike is for a 5’3”, 175 lbs, female with less than normal arm strength. Please reply. Thanks very much.
The bike is not really heavy at the front if it has a single battery, but it is with a double battery. However, the basket is mounted to the frame, not the handlebar, so it should be no problem to steer. A lot of customers did that.
